Open one eye

In a bit of a fash rut. It's too hot for a blazer, but too cold for just a tshirt and I'm too lazy to layer. Especially when I'm late for class. I've been feeling nude tones a lot lately though. I feel like I should have a list of ideas for fall back so i don't wear skinny jeans and a tshirt like every....day.... this.... week...


Oh Great Kate, help me see the fashionable light. Help me find great outfits every day, even when I'm lazy. Amen.

Loving: almost grossly distressed jeans. I would diy mine, but I think I'm a bit too scared of ruining them. But I guess that would be closer to a good thing? Any tips?

The one thing that will elevate the entire outfit. I love standout pieces. Still easy, but more of a 4 pm casual. You know, not enough to go out in, but enough that it took that slightest bit of effort.

Colour! It gives any outfit a punch in the face, and I'm loving it. Even the combinations that you think would seem garish look fabulous when worn (i.e. blue, purple, yellow).

I always have a daydream of crossing a street looking absolutely lethal. The highest heels, dramatic clothes, the wind blowing just right. Sarah Rutson of Lane Crawford just personified my daydream.

Once more, with feeling

Saw this on Fashionista on my lunch break. Looked down and realized I was also wearing black/navy. First tights and sandals, now black and navy? What is the next fashion rule to be broken? Upscale sweatpants have been done (thank you Alexander Wang) and so have evening shorts. I'm looking forward to the next steadfast rule being smashed.

You and I were meant to be together..

You know when you buy something that you just need to have, regardless of wardrobe 'meshing' or wearability? I have one of those right now, and it happens to be a newfound obsession. I absolutely love fur accents. I recently bought a fox fur collar, and although I'll wear it around my room I can't bring myself to wear it to school, which is pretty much the only place I go lately. But I like to live vicariously through women who can just kill the look, like these;

Have you seen my ghost?

My first post! I'm just starting to put my thoughts in order for the blog so I can write more, but I've just been swamped by school essays, work, and holidays. But after tomorrow it should lighten up. Hopefully I can start going back to the gym! I always put it off.. "oh, i'll start tomorrow" but then it rolls around and I find another excuse to put it off. But tomorrows the day. Probably? Anyways, I found this lovely picture on the Nylon website. I just love the contrast of the sweet girly dress with a hard, studded belt.
